SUPERB 1940's VINTAGE ASIAN JACKET - JEAN LINDSAY SHANGHAI - FLORAL PRINT SILK
1940's silk peony print Asian jacket sold by Jean Lindsay, Shanghai, fine merchant located on Nanking Road with Shanghai's most posh retailers starting in the 1920's. Salmon pink with yellow, green, teal and cream floral print silk jacquard. The jacquard is a subdued stripe pattern with a fine metallic silver line. Double tiered Mandarin collar. Original exaggerated shoulder pads. Asymmetric front closure starts in center at collar and gradually curves to the left at the waist. Four hand made self two tone (print and lining fabric) frogs with knot button. Fitted through waist with princess seaming. Skirt flares at back. Long gently flared set in sleeves. Full pink rayon lining. It's finely crafted and wonderfully luxurious!
