SALT & PEPPER WOOL 20's VINTAGE MENs DUSTER/SHOPCOAT - FINE EARLY WORKWEAR SPECIMEN ie BROWNS BEACH - OVERDIER
1920's vintage salt and pepper duster/shopcoat. Black and off white tweedy pattern stripe wool with light brown and cream herringbone wool inner vest lining. Button front with rounded medium point collar. Four large patch pockets. Pockets lined with blue and white micro check cotton. Long sleeves with raglan type shoulder seams. Button cuffs with black cotton facing & edging. Three self belt loops. Wool long sleeve vest type lining. Vent center back lower. Mix and match buttons, some have been replaced. Excellent example of an early workwear shopcoat, reminiscent of the tweedy Brown's Beach workwear jackets.

Condition:
Good vintage workwear condition. Well used and worn workwear garment, distressed the old fashioned way... on the job in the 1920's! Upper lining worn away, stitched down at wear edges (see photos). Cotton reinforcement patches at inside underarms and inside center back seam. Still totally wearable, a great character piece!
