THREE PIECE SUMMER TWEED 1920'S VINTAGE SUIT - BUTTON FLY TROUSERS - DATED 1927 - MATHESON
EXTRAORDINARY 20's vintage three piece, two button single breasted bespoke suit. Remarkable tweed fabric! Most 1920's men's suits are more traditional in dark or muted tones. This is a rare 20's look indeed. Tan with red, teal blue, taupe and gray wool tweedy plaid. The red and teal yarns have a twist that ads additional interest to the fabric. Medium notched lapels. Rounded patch pocket angled onto left chest. Two rounded stylized patch pockets with flaps lower. Hidden ticket pocket inside right pocket. Raglan shoulder seaming. No vent back. All original faux tortoise celluloid buttons, 3 at cuffs, 6 at vest. Tan light weight wool 1/2 lining and seam finishings. Four welt pocket vest. Tan light weight wool vest back, ecru cotton twill lining. Breast pocket at lining. Flat front button-fly trousers. Continuous waist. Inseam wide belt sheaths. Bound coin pocket below right front waist edge. Side seam pockets. Sculpted button flap left hip pockets. Button tab at inside fly. Vegetable ivory buttons at fly. Ivory with brown & taupe waist facing, as well as sleeve linings. Fine tailoring elements... precisely crafted! Old school tailoring that we long for.

Also, a professional reweave at right sleeve seen only on close scrutiny. Vest shows possible shadow mark at button hole. Trousers show some sheer fabric reinforcements inside, which add to the life of the garment but not seen when wearing. There are a couple of minor pinholes at back pocket. Suit is not perfect, but all issues are not seen when wearing and flaws have been restored. It presents perfectly!
