1920's VINTAGE CUSTOM MADE WOOL GABARDINE COAT WITH WOVEN WOOL PAISLEY TRIM
Extraordinary Cossack style coat with paisley trim dates from the 1920s. Black wool gabardine coat with red light weight wool lining. Trim constructed from an earlier 19th century jacquard hand loomed woven wool shawl with strong dark rich vibrant colors of red, pink, green, blue, black and white in a decorative paisley pattern design. Trim at high stand collar, deep turn back cuffs, front placket and hem. Asymmetric single button closure at collar. Red, green, blue and black pieced piping and facing at edges. Full red wool lining.

Bust - 40"
Sleeve, from seam to cuff fold - 25"
Shoulder, from seam to seam across back yoke - 15"
Length, from collar seam to hem edge - 45"
Condition:
Very good condition. Coat is in great shape however the lining has some issues. Lining shows some moderate age discoloration & soil marks, also some small neat professional looking repairs which will ultimately extend the life of the garment. Extraordinary wearable art!
