LUXURIOUS 1920's CUSTOM MADE WOVEN WOOL PAISLEY COAT
This extraordinary antique wool paisley shawl coat dates from the 1920's. It has been constructed from an earlier 19th century jacquard hand loomed woven wool shawl done in strong dark rich vibrant colors of red, orange, green, gold, black and white in a decorative paisley pattern design. The coat is designed with a notched collar and with the paisley border at hem and button placket. Long sleeves with turn back cuffs. Two button asymmetric closure with self covered buttons. Taupe silk lining. This was no ordinary woven paisley but rather an extraordinary early textile, finely woven with intricate detail and texture. With that being it's lineage, the coat is simply brilliant!
