SPECTACULAR 1910s OLIVE TWILL SPORTING SUIT WITH RIDING BREECHES
1910s sporting suit with 3/4 length belted jacket and matching jodhpurs. Fine distinctive masculine detailing, evocative of the World War I era doughboys "over there". One could imagine an audacious suffragette donning this impressive ensemble as she set out to march for her right to vote... then off to the stables for an equestrian event!
High fold over long rounded point collar, buttons at point. Wide collar band with button tab. Front buttons to waist. Two small angled double button flap breast pockets with matching pocket at sleeve and matching larger pockets at skirt. Bodice gathers into waist seam, front and back. Long sleeves with double buttons at cuffs. Flared a-line type skirt with deep button vent center back. Attached self belt buttons center front. Jodhpurs button closed at left and right sides. Continuous waist. Button closure starting from knee to ankle. Vegetable ivory buttons - 8 large, 24 medium and 14 small. ALL buttons are present! An extraordinary suit, at this late date deemed one-of-a-kind.
