WWI ERA BELTED DAY DRESS - 1910's VINTAGE WOVEN PINK PLAID COTTON WITH WHITE WAFFLE PIQUE TRIM - AMOSKEAG MFG. CO.
Extraordinary 1910's vintage day dress... extraordinary because it survived. Most simple little cotton housedresses of the era were made into quilts or rugs. Pink and white with blue and black woven plaid cotton, white cotton waffle pique and pink cotton chambray. Pique collar and cuffs with pink edging band. V neck middy collar. Asymmetric button front closure. Fitted bodice, pleated at waist. 3/4 sleeve with turn back cuffs. Wide 2 1/2 inch attached double button self belt. Lightly gathered skirt at back and stitched down placket pleated at front left. Two inset hip pockets with ruffle tops. This dress probably survived because it was on a store shelf for years and never sold.
