BLACK & CREAM PLAID PRINT COTTON PETTICOAT DATED 1871



Black and cream plaid print with floral border fleece backed cotton petticoat. Note worthy printed faux ruffle at hem, a sort of textile trompe l'oeil. Drawstring at waist. Selvage at waist: "PATENTED APRIL 11th 1871".

Approximate Measurements:
Drawstring waist - 28" (40" ungathered)
Length - 36"
Hem - Bound
Sweep - 96"

Condition:
Good. Strong fabric. Has had some general wear and staining to be expected by such a utilitarian piece. Has some neat hand made repairs. Hem edge has been rebound. Drawstring is soiled.
