BELLE EPOQUE ERA MAUVE VELVET EVENING GOWN WITH MATCHING JACKET - METALLIC LACE & GREEN SILK BODICE ACCENTS - TWO PIECE 1910's VINTAGE SET
Striking, elaborate 1910's vintage gown with matching jacket. Mauve velvet, brown chiffon, olive green silk and burnished bronze and silver lace. Jacket: Princess seaming. Stylized middy collar with wide overlay lapel. Asymmetric faux closure with self loops and buttons detail, hooks close the jacket. Matching loops and buttons (3) detail center back. Turn back asymmetric wide point cuffs with self button. Asymmetrically pieced back with deep V center yoke. Full silk Charmeuse lining, collar and cuff facings. Weighted at hem. Dress: Silk chiffon bodice with complete cream silk boned under bodice. Jewel neckline with green silk piping and bronze flat braid banding. Wide velvet straps left and right. Vertical metallic lace panel front bodice with self button trim and green silk draped horizontal panel behind the lace. 3/4 sleeves with metallic lace cuffs. Center back hook closure. Asymmetrically draped full length skirt with double self frog and button trim at front left hip. Quarter belt center front waist with self frog and button trim. Flat front and gathers back. Waist and back left hook closure. Sensationally elaborate gown typical of the Belle Epoque era!

Condition:
EXCELLENT restored condition. Velvet shows some moderate crush, characteristic of a garment of this age. Jacket shows a small rust type mark at back left armscye and age discolor at buttons. The jacket has been professionally relined with silk charmeuse. Dress shows some discolor of buttons and the hem has been shortened. The silk chiffon bodice and under-bodice has been professionally replaced. All renovations have been executed by trained period garment restoration professionals. The garment is completely wearable and simply stunning!
