ELEGANT 1920's VINTAGE SILK SHAWL WITH APPLIED WINDOWPANE - MADE IN FRANCE -
Handmade 1920's vintage fine French windowpane shawl. Light periwinkle blue silk with applied sapphire blue silk windowpane and edging. The windowpane is folded & seamed silk bands applied in ribbon fashion attached only at each intersection where there is an embroidered dot, otherwise it lays loosely on the top. The shawl is edged with the same fabric. The brilliant two tone hand knotted and woven flat fringe is tangle free!! Not your typical fancy flapper shawl with lots of flowers and metallic fabric, but superbly crafted and an exquisite stand-out nonetheless. And of course, it's FRENCH!!

Amazingly EXCELLENT condition. A few very minor pin holes and age specks, totally inconsequential. A remarkable textile!
